This is going to be a little more conversational than normal, but I’m thinking something through and I wanted to get it down before it slipped away. A thought occurred to me yesterday that’s been bouncing around my head, eager to get out: If someone has the same answer to every question, then that answer […]
Ok, so, I’ve had the opportunity to demo Google Glass and it’s got a lot of potential. The demo was reasonably tightly curated, so I couldn’t deviate too far from the path, but at least I got a feel for the hardware and the state of play of the voice recognition. Physically, it’s pretty well […]
U.S. Representative Steve Stockman (R-Tex) is challenging John Cornyn for his seat in the Senate. And why should Texans choose Stockman over Cornyn? According to Stockman, it’s because John Cornyn is a liberal: “Liberal John Cornyn wakes up every morning and works to make the Senate a more liberal place. That’s why I am running […]

I’ve had better weekends. Three days without power now and no ETA on restoration, so I’m in a hotel and watching TV. We’ve been getting all of our TV over the interwebs for several years now, so it’s been quite an education. Commercials are way more jarring than I remember and it’s a little disappointing […]
Our place has been without power all day, so the G2 has been been in heavy use all day. So far, so good. We’re at a hotel now and I didn’t even think of bringing the laptop. I’m impressed
The power is out for the second time this week and Mr. Pancakes is suffering from several treatable but really annoying ailments. As soon as I get a little time away from my prescriptions and in front of my computer, we’ll have things to talk about.
Detail: Or “How not to call a variable in the subject line.” And yes, I still have a Yahoo email account. Honestly, Yahoo still has the best email and chat client. I’m not going to pretend that they didn’t lose the war, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with these two products.
